FlixBus connects Western Sydney International Airport to Canberra and Parramatta with new direct line
New line connects Parramatta, Western Sydney International Airport, Goulburn and Canberra starting with two departures each way, seven days a week, from 25 October 2026
SYDNEY, Australia – 22 October 2026: FlixBus, Australia's fast-growing interstate coach service, continues to expand its footprint on Australia's East Coast with the launch of a new line connecting Western Sydney International Airport (Nancy-Bird Walton) to Parramatta and Canberra, starting 25 October 2026 with two departures in each direction, seven days a week.
The route serves four stops: Parramatta, WSI Airport, Goulburn and Canberra, and launches the same day the new airport opens to its first passengers, making FlixBus one of the first transport providers to offer a direct link between Sydney's newest aviation gateway and the national capital.
For leisure and business travellers alike, the service creates a convenient, affordable connection between Parramatta, WSI Airport and Canberra. An added stop in Goulburn better serves the regional community between the airport and the capital.
Daily departures, seven days a week
The initial timetable as the new line starts will see departures from Parramatta at 11:15am and 10:45pm, arriving at WSI Airport, the next stop, approximately 40 minutes later. Departures from Canberra's Jolimont Tourist Centre will run at 6:00am and 4:45pm, arriving at WSI Airport approximately three hours later.
Frequency will be monitored and adjusted in line with demand and as more airlines begin operating at WSI. (Note: Departure times and frequency are indicative and may be updated; travellers should confirm the latest timetable on the FlixBus website when booking.)
Fares start at $21.99 between WSI Airport and Parramatta, $29.99 between WSI Airport and Canberra, and $32.99 between Canberra and Parramatta.
The new line will be operated by FlixBus's existing coach operator partner, Deanes Coaches Group, owned and operated by the Deane family, which already operates FlixBus's daily Sydney-Canberra service.
Linking Australia's third-largest economy with Sydney’s second CBD, regional NSW and the Capital
The WSI Airport sits at the heart of one of the country's most significant growth regions, serving one of the fastest-growing urban populations in Australia. Greater Western Sydney is home to 2.5 million people (roughly 1 in 11 Australians) and ranks as Australia's third-largest economy behind the Sydney CBD and Melbourne, producing 31% of Sydney's Gross Regional Product, around $104 billion.
Located roughly 40 kilometres by road from Parramatta, Sydney's second CBD and fastest-growing business district, the new line provides access to WSI Airport for Parramatta's population of more than 250,000.
Meanwhile, the Goulburn stop, a regional economic hub on the Hume Highway, links a community of around 33,000 people to both Canberra and WSI Airport, providing a bridge between regional New South Wales, Canberra and Sydney's newest aviation gateway.
By bypassing the trip into and out of central Sydney, the new FlixBus service is designed to save time for both business and leisure travellers, while extending an affordable transport option to Goulburn and Canberra.
Yvan Lefranc-Morin, Senior Managing Director, FlixBus Australia, say, "We're proud to be one of the first mobility providers to connect Western Sydney International Airport, Parramatta, Goulburn and Canberra with a single direct service. This line delivers real benefits for passengers: a convenient direct link, affordable fares, and time saved by travelling direct to their destination rather than routing through central Sydney."
"It also strengthens the links between Western Sydney, regional NSW and the capital, supporting the way people and businesses move between them. We'll be monitoring demand closely and will adjust the frequency as needed, especially as more airlines start operating. Launching this line reflects our commitment to the Australian market as we keep exploring ways to reach more Australians on the East Coast with sustainable, affordable and convenient travel."
"We're expanding our partnership with Deanes Coaches Group, one of our first bus partners in Australia and the operator of our Sydney-Canberra line, to bring this service to travellers. Our partnership has gone from strength to strength, with Deanes growing alongside us from our first line to this new route. We're confident their proven local expertise and track record will deliver a reliable, high-quality experience for passengers."
Brenton Deane, CEO, Deanes Coaches Group, adds, "It's exciting to see our journey with FlixBus grow from the Sydney-Canberra line to this new service connecting Western Sydney International Airport and Canberra. Taking on this line supports the continued growth of our business, and we're delighted to be playing our part in giving travellers another way to reach WSI. We're looking forward to welcoming passengers on board from day one."
